Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. Slavery Ordained of God is a classic religious studies text by Rev. Fred. A. Ross. The book I give to the public, is not made up of isolated articles. It is one harmonious demonstration--that slavery is part of the government ordained in certain conditions of fallen mankind. I present the subject in the form of speeches, actually delivered, and letters written just as published. I adopt this method to make a readable book. I give it to the North and South--to maintain harmony among Christians, and to secure the integrity of the union of this great people. This harmony and union can be preserved only by the view presented in this volume, --_i.e._ that _slavery is of God_, and to continue for the good of the slave, the good of the master, the good of the whole American family, until another and better destiny may be unfolded. Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Slavery Ordained of God is a glimpse into the mind of a Presbyterian minister speaking to the General assembly on the condition of slavery. Rev. Fred. A. Ross, D.D. wrote Slavery Ordained of God from speeches and letters on the subject of slavery. Ross believed that slavery was ordained by God. He felt that it was best for the slave, the master and the country in general until a better solution was found. He further argues that the Southern slave although in a poor situation is far better off than the blacks in Africa. Ross rejects and defends slave-holding as a 'blot on our holy religion,' and in the next breath, makes all sorts of apologies and justifications for the slave-holder.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Slavery Ordained of God by Rev. Fred A. Ross, D.D., is a historical text originally written in the mid-19th century as a theological defense of slavery. The book reflects the religious and cultural arguments of its time and serves today as a primary source for understanding how scripture was once interpreted to justify the institution of slavery.Though controversial, this work is valuable to historians, researchers, and readers interested in the moral, religious, and political debates that shaped America before the Civil War. It stands as a sobering reminder of how faith, culture, and power intertwined in one of the darkest chapters of human history. This edition is presented for educational and historical purposes, preserving the original language and intent of the author.…
