Paperback. Condición: Very Good. The Twentieth Century Performance Reader is the key introductory text to all types of performance. Extracts from fifty practitioners, critics and theorists from the fields of dance, drama, music, theatre and live art make up an essential sourcebook for students, researchers and practitioners. A bestseller since its publication in 1996, this second edition has been fully updated and includes: * New writings by practitioners and theorists * Notes about each writer * A completely new introduction. Each extract is fully supplemented by a contextual summary, a biography of the writer, and suggestions for further reading. Organised alphabetically, this reader makes it possible to compare major writings on all types of performance in one volume. The ways in which different performance practitioners' ideas inter-relate are pointed out in a series of detailed cross-references for readers. In so doing it becomes clear that one of the key features of twenty first century performance is its boundlessness and its capacity to cross borders. All who enjoy or work with live innovative performance will find this book invaluable. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Paperback. Condición: Very Good. Pharmacology for Pharmacy and the Health Sciences introduces pharmacology in a way that is tailored to the needs of pharmacy and health care students. It provides an understanding of drug action at the cellular and molecular level, which is interfaced seamlessly with an explanation of the clinical use of drugs to treat common conditions. Pharmacology for Pharmacy and the Health Sciences is the perfect course companion for anyone needing to develop a solid understanding of pharmacology and its impact on pharmacy and clinical practice. Online Resource Centre The Online Resource Centre to accompany Pharmacology for Pharmacy and the Health Sciences features: For registered adopters: - Figures from the book, available to download - PDF versions of all workbooks appearing in the text - Suggested answers to questions posed within the workbooks. Original single weight, black and white photograph of jazz bassist and composer Steve Swallow by photographer Michael Montfort, apparently unpublished, with Montfort's copyright stamp and the label of German magazine "Jazz im Bild" on the verso. From the photographer's estate. Born in Freiburg, Germany, Michael Montfort began his career working as a photojournalist for German magazines such as "Stern," "Quick," and "Bild am Sonntag." In addition to shooting numerous rock and jazz performances, he covered Queen Elizabeth's 1965 visit to Germany, the aftermath of the Six Day War in Israel and Egypt, and the May 1968 protests in Paris. Montfort emigrated to Los Angeles in 1973 and began working as a freelancer. Four years later, on assignment for the German literary magazine "Rogners," Montfort was sent to photograph Charles Bukowski. Aided by the case of wine he smartly brought with him to their first meeting, Montfort connected with the publicity-shy and splenetic poet. Over the next two decades, as both Bukowski's drinking buddy and personal photographer, he shot literary thousands of images of Bukowski and collaborated with him on titles such as "Horsemeat," "Shakespeare Never Did This," and "The Wedding." In addition to Bukowski, Montfort shot notable photographs of luminaries such as William S. Burroughs, Klaus Kinski, Brigitte Bardot, and a Jackson 5 era Michael Jackson. 9.5 x 7 inches, with half inch borders to the left and right of the image. About Fine.
