Published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Ferrero Foundation, the monograph delves into the theme of the imprint, ranging from drawing to photography, from modelling to carving in an accurate compendium of the vast selection of genres and techniques tackled by the artist. The motif of the imprint becomes in Giuseppe Penone's vision synonymous with contact between different surfaces and finds its own ideal manifestation in nature, understood as a global ecosystem of which every element is an integral part, from the human being to the leaves, from the trees to the earth. Created with the involvement of prominent figures in the international artistic and curatorial panorama, careful research in archives, and historical reconstruction, the project complements the foundation's other promotional activities by which it seeks to tell this story, with particular attention to a transversal audience both geographically and generationally. In Emilio Tadini: The Reality of the Image 1968-1972 an unpublished manuscript by Tadini, consisting of forty-three pages of hole-punched graph paper-on which the artist wrote notes relating to the execution of his paintings, ideas for future works and titles for new series-, act as a starting point for a larger study of his position in the early post-war cultural debate, through an essay by Francesco Guzzetti (editor of the publication), and a large documentation of paintings, photographic studies, drawing and collages. Egli si interroga sul ruolo dell'artista, sugli strumenti della rappresentazione, sulla relazione tra autore e opera, opera e osservatore, osservatore e artista. Questa pubblicazione è dedicata all'opera site-specific realizzata da Paolini per il Museo d'arte della Fondazione Luigi Rovati ed è parte di una nuova serie di monografie su importanti artisti contemporanei che hanno collaborato con la Fondazione. Intitolata Era finora, l'opera di Paolini si compone dei profili in gesso di due teste, una femminile e l'altra maschile, a evocare rispettivamente il classico e il neoclassico, l'origine del canone occidentale dell'arte e la sua ripresa agli albori dell'età contemporanea. Inquadrati entro una teca, i volti sembrano misurare il perimetro di uno spazio, o marcare un percorso, come pietre miliari.
