Ursprünglich wurde es in Frankreich hergestellt und sollte den Pars Hiemalis-Ausschnitt des Pariser Brevariums darstellen. Dies war der Winter-Ausschnitt einschließlich des Teils zur… Tagundnachtgleiche (oder Sonnenwende) im Advent eines Buches, das die liturgischen Riten der katholischen Kirche während des gesamten Kirchenjahres enthielt.Der Einband aus rotem Marokkoleder mit goldenem Filigran und großen goldenen Punktverzierungen (Pointillé) stammt aus einem nicht identifizierten Pariser Atelier und wurde 1645 von S. und G. Cramoisy gedruckt. S. und G. Cramoisy, einer der bedeutendsten Buchhändler der Epoche, war einer der ersten weltlichen Buchdrucker, der den Druck liturgischer Werke übernahm, nachdem die Zuständigkeit 1618 von der Kirche auf weltliche Buchdruckereien übertragen worden war. Dieser Einband wurde vermutlich aber vielmehr für einen Büchersammler als zur Nutzung in der Messe gefertigt. Es befindet sich seit dem Zweiten Kaiserreich (1865-1870) in der Sammlung der Bibliothèque Nationale de France.Bei einer so brillanten Filigranarbeit ist es verständlich, dass ein Sammler ein solches Stück in Auftrag gab und dass die Bibliothèque Nationale de France es seit zwei Jahrhunderten mit Stolz in ihrer Sammlung führt.; Hardcover; Elastikband-Verschluss; 120 g/qm; Falt-Innentasche; Fadenheftung.
