Complete as issued. Very Good. A lovely, neat, square, and remarkably secure copy of this notoriously scarce hunting classic. Bound in the original publisher's bright red cloth, featuring radiant gilt lettering and motifs to the upper cover, which is further framed and stamped in clean black borders. The spine shows typical age-fading to the plain cloth but remains entirely intact. The rear board has a small, light fade mark but otherwise retains good, rich colour with sharp blind-stamped decoration. Original floral patterned endpapers and pastedowns are fully intact with no splitting; hinges remain remarkably strong and firm. Pages are clean, crisp, and completely free of any foxing or handling stains. Features a neat, contemporary ink presentation ownership inscription written cleanly in the title page margin: "T. L. Carmichael, Feb 8th [1893]". A highly attractive, honest collector's example with excellent provenance. …
