Sinclair, born in Orkney in 1807, was a lithographic printer, one of the first in Philadelphia to experiment with colour lithography. He studied in Edinburgh before moving to Philadelphia in 1833. Original purple cloth with gilt titles and decoration, top edges gilt. Spine faded. Gift inscription on half-title page (1859).
