Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. This unique bilingual anthology of poetry gathers the work of well-known and new contemporary poets from Italy, England, the U.S., New Zealand, the Czech Republic, and elsewhere, all paying tribute to the legacy of Ezra Pound and Olga Rudge. Inspired by a momentous cross-cultural poetry reading by most of these poets on July 2, 2009, at the Sala Capizucchi in the epicenter of Rome--the same theatre where Olga Rudge had performed with the composer George Antheil in February 1927--this collection bears testimony not only to the rich variety of new verse coming from both sides of the Atlantic, but to the wide sweep of Pound's influence into the twenty-first century. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Paperback. Condición: Near Fine. First edition. A very smart, illustrated first edition, with very scarce letter, presenting this copy as a gift from the binder, who also signs the letter. A very smart first edition. Bound in publisher's original pink paper wraps. Featuring a very scarce letter. The letter is addressed from Poet & Printer, to 'Ben', and marks the gifting of this copy to the recipient. The letter reads: 'Dear Ben, Your comments were very helpful, just as they were before - many thanks. The title page you suggested was my first inention but the 8x5 would have been hopeless with that large area of line block on the Cornwall cover and I had it reduced. Your comments on Caslon are very clear and now see the folly of Smooth Process with that kind of face. Please keep Gallery enclosed - no comments, please! - which must have had its origins in A Apple Pie, though there are so many deficiencies in my book, faulty imposition, slurring and god knows what, that I usually hide it. It's done on tram ticket stock and Hostmann-Steinberg colour mixes. Once again, many thanks and Best wishes, Alan' The letter is signed by Alan Tarling, who bound this book. Illustrated throughout with colour vignette illustrations to face each poem. Additionally slotted inside are three flyers advertising 'the start of The Mini Press created by Matthew Sands, May 1970'. Bound in original paper wraps. Externally, very smart. Mild shelf wear. Moderate sunning to spine. The odd very minor mark to covers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Near Fine. Tom Ricciardi (ilustrador). book.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The powerful do not listen, but history does. Why, after centuries of bloodshed, does the cycle of global conflict persist From the complex political history of the Church to the fiery manifestos of Marxist revolutionaries, the world remains trapped by the persistent flaws of its leaders. In this unflinching exploration, the author dissects the behavioral 'caprices' of world power-xenophobia, megalomania, utopian zeal, and unchecked greed. He traces the legacies of figures like Che Guevara, Gandhi, and Nelson Mandela, asking why their grand visions for change so often crumble into authoritarian stagnation or are simply absorbed by the very systems they sought to dismantle. This is more than a political critique; it is a profound historical and moral interrogation.By juxtaposing the tragic silence of the page in anti-war literature (Tolstoy, Hemingway) with the unifying chorus of protest music (Marley, Gaye), the book ultimately seeks an answer in a simple, profound plea: Miserere-have mercy. It is a summons to the unbroken to break their silence, transforming complicity into courage. For too long, the world has whispered its pleas. It is time for the silence to swell into an undeniable roar.…
