Paperback. Condición: New. 2024 ed. This book explores the theoretical contribution of peace ecology to the understanding and practice of environmental and conventional peacebuilding. It integrates environmental questions and factors that drive socio-political violence and climate change-induced violence in Sub-Saharan Africa in the Anthropocene.· It demonstrates how international peace and global security are no longer solely grounded in conventional peacebuilding that has evolved from liberal to democratic peace theories, but rather in the complex, critical and synergic relations between peace studies and environmental studies.· It provides a pluridisciplinary body of knowledge that emphasises the need for food security, social climate, social good, social capital and sustainable development at the age of climate change and climate wars.· It underscores the potential of peace ecology to reduce the Earth systems' vulnerability, to mitigate anthropogenic global warming's consequences on humanity, the ecosystem and biodiversity.· It yields various models of peacebuilding, conflict-sensitive and climate-sensitive adaptation strategies to enhance the African Region's security and stability. Finally, this volume argues that planetary boundaries framework remains the safer space within which human and sustainable development can be pursued and attained, and future generations to thrive. A comprehensive and international response to socio-political violence and climate-change induced violence should take into account the vulnerability of individual countries, regions and the global world in order to achieve the dreams of a better future; that makes this book a cutting-edge scholarly work.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The book examines and reflects on how conflict transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa can be done in the Anthropocene. The Anthropocene is a geological epoch marked by human activities becoming the dominant influence on the environment, rather than natural forces. This shift signifies a new reality where humans, through their behaviors and decisions, have transformed ecosystems, altered atmospheric composition, and disrupted climatic systems. Historically, forces such as volcanic eruptions, ocean currents, and solar cycles dictated Earth s systems. In the Anthropocene, human activities which include but not limited to the establishment of infrastructures for peace, peacekeeping, and community peace initiatives have become equally, if not more, significant. Five major research themes emerge from its 19 Chapters are:1). The problematic in African communities2). Resilient social institutions in African communities3). Infrastructures that sustain peace in Africa4). Socio-political responses to climate change-induced conflict & violence in Africa5). The future of peace in AfricaThe book acknowledges that top-down approaches to peace in African soil have failed, for example, truth and peace commissions in Siera Leone, South Africa, and peace agreements in Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and their unintended effects and so on. This book is a Call for new theoretical perspectives that move Sub-Saharan Africa forward in the area of peacebuilding using African innovation and endogenous institutions to sustain.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -A lot has been written on conflict but little or no information regarding conflicts involving pastors has so far been well documented. Although information on workplace conflicts is widely in circulation but a church situation which constitutes pastor s working environment is totally different from other work places. For example, in the AFM in Zimbabwe church, pastors in their various capacities are responsible for dealing with conflicts situations, administering church doctrines, enforcing Christian values and constitutional regulations. In reality, if the pastor is involved for instance, in misappropriation of church funds, extra-marital affair or any other misdemeanor, the church will not grow both numerically and spiritually. If anything, such situations create disgruntlement, tear the church apart and blackmail the entire Christian community. Spiritually and morally such practices stains the purity of the church. To the wider community, people who might want to convert to Christianity may get discouraged now that the leaders to whom they seek for spiritual help are involved in such vices. 88 pp. Englisch.…
