Diese Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Analyse des Tourismus- und Ökotourismuspotenzials Aserbaidschans, gibt Informationen über Geographische Informationssysteme und definiert die Rolle von GIS im Bereich Ökotourismus. Das touristische Potenzial Aserbaidschans wurde erforscht und die ökotouristischen Orte Aserbaidschans wurden mit Hilfe der GIS-Technologie erstellt. Im praktischen Teil der Arbeit wurde der Bezirk Gadabay in Aserbaidschan als Fallstudie ausgewählt. Die erstaunliche Natur, das Klima, die Wälder und andere Merkmale bieten die Möglichkeit, ökotouristische Aktivitäten in diesem Bezirk zu implementieren. Während dieser Untersuchung wurden die Informationen des staatlichen statistischen Komitees von Aserbaidschan und die Daten anderer offizieller Quellen analysiert und in diesem Papier dargestellt. Eine SWOT-Analyse wurde durchgeführt, um die Auswirkungen des Multiplikatortourismus zu bestimmen.
