Kennedy, the continuing mystery has a deeper significance that the authors of this work seek to probe and elucidate. Any examination of the Palme assassination has to be conducted with reference to an extremely complex set of international factors. It is in this milieu that Palme found a special role for himself as an international statesman, seeking to mediate some of the lesser though deadly wars, in particular the Iran/Iraq conflict. Palme the Peacemaker had many enemies and a consideration of the role which may have been played by some of them is carefully examined, by a reference to a theoretical schema of the assassination phenomenon, of the motives and modalities of each of the likely candidates.
