Hardcover. Condición: new. Hardcover. In the valleys, from the high summits that surround Zermatt, the gigantic movement of the glacier is frozen, like an irreversible snapshot. Here, the seasons pass one after the other, but have no power over a history that has fallen to pieces. The rare human silhouettes and color are incorporated into this immobile flux like annexes to the autarkic oxygen of Zermatt as a place. The imprint of plants appears to be mineral and gigantic, the summits and perspectives are turned upside down, the immobility of stone and ice resembles a fossilized tumult, a flow of ages. The almost total effacing of intention in these photographs lets other things appear-as if by imposition-in the glacial mist or the pastel intoxicated by altitude: a form of nature in which texture and matter take on the aspect of puzzles, fractals, the interweaving of crystals and of gypsum. These ups and downs of mute logic and unthought-of mirror-games have laid down their principles for the composition of a book, reinforcing this choice by using over-aged rolls of film whose texture, matured by the coldness of wintry mountains, has worked alone, with its specifically intimate process. Since the image has been captured in this form of withdrawal, its pictorial force comes across as a natural element: a contemplated, integral secret. In the valleys, from the high summits that surround Zermatt, the gigantic movement of the glacier is frozen, like an irreversible snapshot. Here, the seasons pass one after the other, but have no power over a history that has fallen to pieces. This book includes photographs that lets other things appear - as if by imposition - in the glacial mist. hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Most of our very good books have only minor imperfections such as shelf wear consistent with a new book that's sat on a bookshop shelf for a year or two. Occasionally we may miss other minor imperfections as we have to grade books at speed. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.…

hardcover. Condición: New. Prima edizione (First Edition). Fotografie a colori e riproduzione di immagini a colori e in bianco e nero . Cm 25x19. pp. 104. . Nuovo (New). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . …

Condición: Wie neu. Steidl, Göttingen. 2009. First edition, first printing. Mint, new, unread; still originally shrink-wrapped in publisher`s plastic foil. Hardcover without dust jacket (as issued). Text by Thomas Gizolme. Book design by Aline Diépois and Thomas Gizolme. Typography by Thomas Gizolme. Colour and b/w plates throughout. 104 pages. 190 x 245 mm. Clothbound hardcover with tipped-in image"It all started when we decided to run away from Paris and catch up with the desert, over in Tucson, Marfa, Willcox and other secluded places in the States. Along the way, we often came across this sign: "Dust storm may exist." Strangely enough it reflected our mood at that precise moment. I remember a movie whose name I've forgotten right now, the hero would say: "As long as you're moving no one can get you," it must have been a war movie in which the protagonists tried to pass through bullets. This book is like that image. Through the juxtaposition of these photos and texts, we've fled one story to create another, made of pleasure and doubt, of trust and fear and mostly of laughter and jokes. Dust Book is our story."***************Steidl, Göttingen. 2009. Erstausgabe.
