The post-migration stressors experienced by the refugees were explored with specific emphasis on influence of family and friends, lan…guage barrier, cultural differences and attitude of the local residents. The five Eritrean refugees were individually interviewed using the semi-structured interviewing technique. The five interviews were analyzed using content analysis approach. The main findings of the study were that the Eritrean refugees living in the Netherlands are presently facing some post-migration stressors which are affecting their mental health and their socioeconomic integration. Another main finding is the role aspirations plays in the lives of these refugees, their aspirations and resilience to achieve more for themselves. Based on the findings of this study, a holistic approach (which involves intervention and management of stressful experiences by different mental health practitioners) is proposed to address the different post migration stressors that the Eritrean refugees experience in the Netherlands.

Due to the increasing number of No…n-EU students and their direct cost-benefit relationship to the Netherlands and host universities, a substantial effort and dedication to attracting these students have emerged, where most Dutch universities are concerned about the attractiveness of their university systems to international students and increase the recognition of their degrees abroad. To create and sustain the complexity of international student mobility, education agents and university international officers are required to bridge the gap between a solely profit-oriented education industry and the social lives of international students and their families. Se exploraron los factores de estrés p…ost-migración experimentados por los refugiados, haciendo especial hincapié en la influencia de la familia y los amigos, la barrera del idioma, las diferencias culturales y la actitud de los residentes locales. Los cinco refugiados eritreos fueron entrevistados individualmente utilizando la técnica de la entrevista semiestructurada. Las cinco entrevistas se analizaron mediante un enfoque de análisis de contenido. Las principales conclusiones del estudio fueron que los refugiados eritreos que viven en los Países Bajos se enfrentan actualmente a algunos factores de estrés post-migración que afectan a su salud mental y a su integración socioeconómica. Otra de las principales conclusiones es el papel que desempeñan las aspiraciones en la vida de estos refugiados, sus aspiraciones y su capacidad de recuperación para conseguir más para ellos mismos. Sobre la base de los resultados de este estudio, se propone un enfoque holístico (que implica la intervención y la gestión de las experiencias estresantes por parte de diferentes profesionales de la salud mental) para hacer frente a los diferentes factores de estrés posteriores a la migración que experimentan los refugiados eritreos en los Países Bajos. 80 pp. Spanisch.
