En el enfoque presentado, sólo se utiliza la formulación del flujo de potencia óptimo (OPF) de MATPOWER y el resto del trabajo se ha realizado en la codificación de MATLAB para desarrollar el enfoque propuesto. El enfoque presentado se basa en la variación paso a paso de los parámetros de control del dispositivo TCSC y UPFC. Se han determinado los resultados para todas las ubicaciones posibles, el nivel de compensación, la reactancia del TCSC y el UPFC, la inyección o absorción de potencia reactiva, la maximización del bienestar social, la maximización del beneficio con la minimización de la función objetiva. El precio marginal de localización (LMP) se ha reducido mediante la colocación adecuada de los dispositivos FACTS por el enfoque presentado. El voltaje del sistema también se ha mejorado mediante el uso de la UPFC. En este trabajo se ha utilizado el modelo de licitación de doble subasta. This work presents an optimization approach for optimal allocation and optimal sizing of Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) or Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) in deregulated electricity market to reduce congestion. The proposed optimization technique has been used with an objective to minimize overall operating cost, maximize social welfare by placing TCSC or UPFC in a suitable location. In order to reduce the solution space two effective Indices (Marginal Congestion Index (MCI) and Active Power Spot Price Index (APSPI)) are employed for optimal placement of TCSC or UPFC. Once the location of TCSC or UPFC is identified, the optimal parameters of TCSC or UPFC are also determined. The proposed approach is carried out on modified IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 118-bus test systems and the results are presented to validate the approach. 104 pp. Englisch.

The presented approach is based on step by step variation in control parameters of the TCSC and UPFC device. Results have been determined for all possible locations, compensation level, reactance of TCSC and UPFC, reactive power injection or absorption, maximization of social welfare, maximization of profit with minimization of objective function. The locational marginal pricing (LMP) has reduced by proper placement of FACTS devices by presented approach. System voltage also improved by using the UPFC. The double auction bidding model has been used in this work.
