A number of studies on Autism have looked at neuropathology and bio-chemical aspects but no single definitie cause has been identified for the emergence of autism. Researchers have found that most of the parents of children with autism exhibit introvert traits and many introvert traits seemed to be similar to autistic traits. The personality traits of parents and childrearing pattern in the family seemed to influence autism in children primarily. This book highlights the role of parents in the emergence of autism among their children. Born out of a scientific methodology, systematic survey case studies and an intervention programme among 200 plus children with autism, this book by professionals practicing autism intervention strategies among the affected children round the year, examines the autistic features among children and analyses the personality traits of parents besides profiling their family background.

More home-based elders were satisfied with their stay, since they got adequate and tasty food, received appropriate medical care, personal comfort, and care and affection. Half of them had none to support, and had both physical and psychological problems. While more family-based elders suffered from vision problems, more home-based elders had hearing difficulties. More than 80 per cent of them felt that they were missing their children. All the elders living in the families, as well as 70 per cent of them from oldage homes, expressed that living in families gives them the real happiness. 136 pp. Englisch.
