Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. I am pleased to offer a very nice copy of: "Tennis for Women" by Molla Bjurstedt and Samuel Crowther. As noted on the title page, Miss Molla Bjurstedt was "National, Indoor, Clay Court, Metropolitan, and Middle States Women Champion for 1915." This book, as she notes in the Foreword, ".does not pretend to be a scientific treatise on the game of tennis.merely sketch the game as I know it." Please see the photos of the Table of Contents and the List of Illustrations. Of the latter, there is a Frontispiece, with a photo of Miss Bjurstedt and 16 other full-page, glossy photo pages, blank on the reverse with images of a particular stance or move as part of the game of Tennis. Condition: This book is in very good plus plus condition. The dark blue cloth boards are very clean and the gilt titles on both cover and spine still bright and attractive (please see my photos). The covers are faintly bumped. Inside, the book is unmarked and the interior pages and plates are bright and clean throughout, with some slight foxing on some of the pages adjacent to the glossy photo pages, not many nor too dark. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. I doubt you will be able to find a better copy. Various (ilustrador). …

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book instructs women on how to develop finesse and power in the game of tennis. At the time when the author, an accomplished national player, was writing, it was common for women to play the "net game," characterized by an intense focus on speed and precision. However, the author argues that such overwhelming aggression, particularly in service, comes at the cost of endurance and unfairly advantages the women who adopt this style. The book emphasizes that by using a more thoughtful approach, women can overcome this aggressive playstyle and achieve greater skill and control. Ultimately, this book highlights that women should focus on accuracy and speed from the baseline, while minimizing the riskier and energy-intensive plays. It encourages women to play to their strengths and develop their own unique style rather than blindly imitating the men's game. The author's insights remain relevant today, as the debate over the best strategy for women's tennis, as she outlines a compelling case for a less reliant playstyle while encouraging players to leverage their natural attributes on the court. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
