Im Kontext seiner Zeit besteht in der Behauptung des Genres Landschaftsmalerei und in dessen malerischer Formulierung die Bedeutung dieses englischen Malers.ANTHONY AMIES (1945, Norwich-2000, London) studierte von 1964-1970 an der Slade School of Fine Art in London Malerei und Grafik. Anfang der 1970er-Jahre hat er seine, sich dem Zeitgeist verweigernde und von einigen als Revivial des Pointillismus kritisierte Bildsprache gefunden, die er bis zu seinem frühen Tod 2000 verfolgte. 1977 wurde er mit dem Arts Council Award ausgezeichnet und lehrte von 1973-1995 am Camden Institut und der Camden School of Art Malerei und Grafik. 173 pp. Deutsch, Englisch.
