Bound in the original pale green pictorial wraps, stamped in black. From a 2013 review by John D. Williams: "Takhli Tales knocks it out of the park! Billy Sparks is both a fighter pilot and a tale-teller par excellence! This tour de force sets the standard for military writing on an understandable level for those who do not drive supersonic metal on a daily basis. His sense of humour, honour, and patriotism combine to create a unique mixture of ingredients that lead to a total success. I flew CF104 Starfighters with Billy in Baden, West Germany where he served admirably on exchange with the Canadian Armed Forces - but my foremost memory of Billy Sparks revolves around the ten minute standing ovation he received from about 500 fellow fighter pilots at the San Antonio River Rats Practice Convention when he entered the hall. Leading the ovation was Robin Olds. If you have to ask who he is - you would never understand! Many of those cheering pilots believed they owed their very lives to Billy and his Wild Weasels. All-in-all this is a superb book from an outstanding source. No one knows more about the Weasel role, or about a war that, while mismanaged from on high provided an opportunity for a host of men to demonstrate their courage, dedication, inventiveness and airmanship to the world than Billy Sparks. All the thumbs up in the world! Bravo.". INSCRIBED / SIGNED by the AUTHOR. 1st ed? (No additional printings listed). Softcover. Very Good condition.
