In recent years she dealt more and more with subjects pertaining to the higher life, the brotherhood of man, faith in a future life, reincarnation, etc. Among her other publications, in verse, are 'Drops of Water' (1872); 'Maurine and Other Poems' (1876); 'Poems of Pleasure' (1887); 'The Beautiful Land of Nod' (1892), etc. She also wrote the novels 'Mal Moulée' (1885); 'A Double Life' (1890); 'An Erring Woman's Love' (1892); 'The Story of a Literary Career' (1904); 'Poems of Sentiment' (1906); 'Poems of Progress and New Thought Pastels' (1910); 'Sailing Sunny Seas' (1911); 'Historical Mother Goose' (1914); 'Poems of Problems' (1914); 'The World and I' (1919). ; One of three talented daughters of John Hall and Elizabeth (Farnsworth) Mears, Louise Mears was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 1866. She spent her youth and gained her early education there, finding her niche as a young girl - drawing. She became known locally for her charcoal sketches of the local inhabitants. One sister, Helen Farnsworth Mears, (1871-1917) became a renowned sculptress, and the other sister Mary, (1870-1943) became a New York author. Louise Mears had a short career as an illustrator, especially noted for her collaboration with Ella Wheeler Wilcox on a number of children's books, among the most notable being The Beautiful Land of Nod, which was published in 1892 --askArt ; Born in Biddeford, Maine, Will Phillip Hooper received his art education in Boston and at the Art Students League in this city.
