Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - Rising from the Ashes-First EditionWhen the flames of life consume everything you thought you were, how do you begin again Rising from the Ashes is the raw, honest, and deeply hopeful story bases on the real life events of a man who stepped into the fire service searching for purpose, belon…ging, and escape. As a volunteer firefighter, a husband, and a father, he learned to wear the symbols of strength well, the turnout gear, the wedding ring, the proud title of 'Dad.' But behind the mask of service and stability, he was quietly unraveling. Addiction, shame, and unspoken suffering smoldered beneath the surface, threatening to burn everything down long before the smoke was visible. After years of running into burning buildings, helping others through their worst moments, and carrying the weight of emergencies that weren't his own, he found himself facing a fire he could no longer outrun, the fire within. Broken, exhausted, and standing in the ruins of his own choices, he discovered that sometimes the greatest rescue is the one God performs in the human heart.Through gripping fireground moments, hidden battles, painful personal reckoning, and the slow, sacred work of rebuilding, this memoir invites readers into a journey of redemption that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. It is a story of identity lost and restored, of grace found in unexpected places, and of a God who meets us in the ashes and refuses to leave us there. For anyone who has ever felt burned out, broken down, or beyond repair, Rising from the Ashes offers a powerful reminder: your story isn't over. Hope is still alive. And the God who walks with us through the fire is the same God who brings beauty from the ashes. This is the beginning of the Walking Through Fire series, a journey from hidden brokenness to honest healing, from survival to calling, and from the flames of life to the God who makes all things new.

Añadir al carritoWith an important and evocative provenance to the Grimke and Drayton library at South Bay House, South Carolina and one of the most prominent abolitionist families in American history. The Grimké family's abolitionism began with the sisters Sarah (1792-1873) and Angelina (1805-1879), the daughters of a South Carolina slave ownin…g plantation owner who both advocated through speech and their writing for the civil rights of African Americans and women. The penned inscriptions in both volumes are in the hand of the Grimke sisters' brother, Thomas Smith Grimke and both read Theodore D Grimke for his attachment and attention to his brother Drayton from their father Thomas S Grimke (dated 7 Sept 1832 in volume 1). Volume 1 is additionally stamped This book is part of the old Grimke and Drayton Library at South Bay House, So Ca which was sent over to T Drayton Grimke of Colborne Hall, Lancashire, England in the Autumn of 1889. An armorial bookplate in the name of Drayton Grimke Drayton stamped Clifford Manor Gloucestershire is affixed to the front pastedown of volume 1 indicating that he volumes were then passed on to the collection of Clifford Manor, Gloucestershire, which is recorded as one of Grimke-Drayton's properties. By this time Theodore was known as Theodore Drayton Grimke-Drayton having added the extra Drayton to his name by deed-poll in the hopes of securing a further inheritance from America. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Both volumes are in fair condition. A half binding of blue cloth over plain card boards is well worn and bumped to corners. Brown calf spines lettered in gilt are chipped, cracking and suffering loss to top and tails. Hinges are tender to both volumes revealing bindings but holding well. Text blocks are solid, quite heavily age toned and spotted throughout particularly to early leaves. Both volumes inscribed by hand to front free endpapers. Volume 1 is additionally stamped as part of the Grimke and Drayton Library and also displays a bookplate to front pastedown. Volume 1, 306 pp. Leaves 1 -6 missing, leaf 7/8 missing top half as noted on collation. Volume 2, 321 pp. Please contact Christian White Rare Books Ltd for more information or images of this item.
