La sociedad española durante la época de Galdós (1843-1920) fue testigo de la creciente preocupación sobre la situación de los niños y adolescentes. Muestras de ellos son la publicación de la Ley de Instrucción Pública o la Ley Moyano, en 1857; la promulgación de la primera ley reguladora que prohibía el trabajo a menores de diez años, en 1873; la celebración del primer Congreso Pedagógico Nacional, en 1882; la fundación del Consejo Superior y Juntas Provinciales y Municipales de Protección a la Infancia en 1904, etc. Fue también durante este periodo cuando se produjo el florecimiento de las revistas dirigidas a los pequeños lectores, y la creación de las primeras editoriales que realizaron publicaciones infantiles. Clarín señala la contraposición entre la habilidad de Galdós a la hora de esbozar a los niños y adolescentes en sus obras, y la reticencia casi enigmática frente a su propia infancia: «Nada me ha querido decir de los primeros de su vida, pero no debe de ser porque desprecie los recuerdos de la infancia hombre que tan bien sabe pintar el espíritu de los niños y sus armas y gestas». It actively integrates multidimensional pragmatic modalities-including both production (initiating and responding) and reception (recognition, comprehension, and perception), together with learners' cognitive processes-rather than one or two types of task modalities. Focusing more on the Chinese EFL context instead of Japanese or European L1 learners, it also takes advantage of an emerging instrument, the computer-animated elicitation task, for data collection based on authentic oral responses and to avoid 'coached' responses. The socio-cognitive approach, proposed by the famous linguistic expert Prof. Istvan Kecskes, is subsequently applied to conduct an in-depth analysis of the data. Hence, the book introduces a new and fruitful theoretical perspective to the traditional L2 pragmatic research field.…
