Originally published in hard covers by Harper in the US in 1934. The boards have a little discolouration to the spine and a few other light surface marks. Scattered large brown spots with these bleeding onto the pages around the edges. The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked however. The price-clipped jacket has two small closed tears to the top edge of the front panel and a half inch closed tear to the bottom edge with these surrounded by associated creasing. There is a one inch closed tear at the base of the spine. The rear panel has a half inch tear to the bottom edge in the centre with a small amount of loss. The front flap has a brown mark to the bottom left corner where there is also a one inch closed tear.
