Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fair. 1st Edition. A slightly tired hardback first edition (undated on the title page but 1893), but with some interesting enclosures loosely inserted at the beginning of the book (see image): an old photograph of the author, an old photograph of Benny Calvert, Parish Clerk, and a postcard of South Ormsby Hall. The slightly sunned red cloth is creased at the head and tail of the spine, and there is a one-inch tear to the cloth at the tail of the spine (on the left-hand edge). There is also a tiny puncture mark on the spine (next to the author's gilt printed names). Both the front and rear hinges are cracked, but the binding is just about holding. There is a name in fountain pen (dated 1912) at the top of the front free endpaper, and a 3-line pencilled note beneath this. There are also a few neat notes in the margins, and some foxing at the beginning and end of the volume. 454 numbered pages. Overall, a reasonable copy only of the scarce first edition, but with 2 old photographs and a postcard enclosed at the beginning of the volume.
