Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - This is a short collection of papal documents issued by Pope Sixtus IV. Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents the text of six 15th-century letters discussing the war between Pope Sixtus IV and the Republic of Venice over Ferrara. Originally printed by William Caxton in 1482, this edition features a new facsimile of the text and an introduction by an expert in early printing. The introduction discusses the historical and literary context of the letters, providing insights into the political and religious tensions of the time. The letters themselves offer a firsthand account of the negotiations and arguments that shaped the conflict, shedding light on the complex interplay between papal authority, secular power, and the emerging nation-states of Renaissance Italy. Through its examination of these fascinating documents, this book contributes to our understanding of European history, diplomacy, and the role of the Church in shaping the political landscape of the Renaissance. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
