Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket, as Issued. First Edition. A Proof Copy of the first edition of Volume 4 of "The Letters of Virginia Woolf", which was published by The Hogarth Press in 1978. When published, the Letters were numbered 1-6 rather than using Roman numerals. With eight pages of monochrome photographic pla…tes. ***Very good in pale pink paper covers with black titles on the front cover, but none on the spine. The covers have some fading to the delicate colour at the edges and on the spine. There is a small stain at the fore edge of the front cover. The top and bottom outer corners of the page block are bumped which has affected the interior pages with light creases. No reading lean to the binding. Light reading creases to the spine. Spine tight. Page block edges clean with no foxing (please see scans). Internally also very good with no inscriptions. Pages clean with no foxing. Outer corner tips creased as mentioned. The paper used for this production is thin but of a nice quality. No dustwrapper. ***235mm x 155mm. 425 pages without the Index at the back of the book which was present in the published version. ***A Proof Copy of the first printing of the true first edition in very good condition. The individually published "Letters of Virginia Woolf" are hard to find now and Proof copies are seldom seen. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc. Angelica Garnett (ilustrador).
