Very good, covers very lightly soiled, spotting to edges and preliminaries. A small triangle has been cut from the foot of pages 43/44 and 45/46 removing some of the text but the photographs are complete. A wide ranging study with chapters on ethics, selecting the model, photography, sculpture and theatre as well as drawing. An attractive volume which is fully illustrated in black and white with many full page plates by artists such as Frank Medworth and Richard Luksch. The four books are in reasonably good condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Tiny spotting to edge of papers. All four books were published in 1925 therefore first editions and illustrated editions. 1. Barchester Towers has 475 pages, with eight plates by F.C. Tilney, 2. The Small House at Allington has 492 pages, with eighteen plates by Sir John E. Millais, 3. The Warden has 279 pages with eight full pages illustrations by F.C. Tilney, 4. The last Chronicle of Barset has 648 pages, with thirty-two plates by George H. Thomas. All pages in all four books are intact, with nice tight bindings, all pages, text and illustrations are in good, clean, readable order. The four books are nearly one hundred years old and have survived so many challenges in being handle, used, the environment etc and they deserve to be preserved for future generations. They would also look great in any stylish library.…
