Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This captivating text explores the Civil War era in the United States through the lens of a Thanksgiving sermon. The author posits that the nation's trials and tribulations during this period were not simply punishments but also opportunities for reform and renewal. By examining the sins of the nation, including greed, pride, and the institution of slavery, the sermon argues that God's chastisements were intended to lead the people towards repentance and a more just and equitable society. The author delves into the causes and consequences of the war, highlighting the corruption and moral decay that had taken hold in pre-war America. The sermon also emphasizes the importance of patriotism, selflessness, and the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families. Ultimately, the book offers a nuanced understanding of the Civil War as a moment of national reckoning and a testament to the enduring power of human resilience and the pursuit of a better future. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
