Sodann durch die Tätigkeit von Handelsunternehmen, die in die Schaffung von Kolonien mündeten, deren Verwaltungen die jeweiligen Länder prägten.Die zentrale Frage ist: Waren diese Deutschen in ihrer repräsentativen Mehrheit durch rassistische Voreingenommenheiten oder Besessenheiten geprägt Die Dezember-2007 -Ausgabe des Journal of Pacific History geht von dieser These aus.
