Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The stamp exhibit in this volume, Art Groten's St. Helena Postal History From Napoleon to the UPU, is not from the modern age of exhibiting. It was awarded Grand Awards in 1987 and 1988: a generation ago in exhibiting techniques, but an eye blink in the appreciation of classic material. One thing is unchanged: the focus on material. There is fantastic Napoleonic material! The philatelic community, in general, including stamp collectors, stamp exhibitors, and students of St. Helena and its postal history, should derive tremendous satisfaction from the fact that this exhibit, from 30 years ago, is now available to a larger audience, allowing the full range of its philatelic treasures to be fully appreciated. We are fortunate that these images were preserved- one in a series of great philatelic exhibits from Exhibitors Press. This item is printed on demand. The exhibit aims to showcase all stamp issues, as well as most major varieties. Since this is not a popular stamp-collecting area, a stamp with an issue of 500 copies is considered relatively common. The rarities in this area are the stamps of which 20 or fewer copies exist. This philatelic exhibit contains over 70 examples of these, including two stamps for which only two copies are known and five others with only three copies known. Carpatho-Ukraine had a complicated history under Czechoslovakia, under Hungary, the Red Army, Czechoslovakia again, the National Council of Carpathia, and the Soviet Union. This exhibit depicts the turbulent times. Prepared by a renowned stamp collector and exhibitor, this exhibit features extraordinary postage stamps and postal history, making it another exceptional stamp exhibit from Exhibitors Press. The British Virgin Islands (Leeward Islands) play a role in the overall postal history of the Caribbean that is much more important than almost any of the other small British islands due to their close proximity to the Danish West Indies, e.g., St. Thomas, which was a major transshipping point for all of the Caribbean postal systems. The exhibit is structured as a classic postal history study with an organization by markings and rates and encompasses the known postal markings used in the British Virgin Islands from 1787 to 1944 as well as all the postal rates applicable in the colony from 1711 through 1944. The markings shown are the most comprehensive examples in one collection of the entire array of BVI postmarks and other ancillary marks ever assembled. It is unlikely to be ever duplicated. The exhibit was first shown in 1988 and then periodically at other national exhibitions over a 15 year period, receiving 9 Gold medals and two Grand Awards. It also received one international Gold medal at New Zealand 1990. Another great exhibit published by Exhibitors Press This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. Many collectors and exhibitors are familiar with First Day Cover exhibits. Not as many, however, are as familiar with First Day Cover exhibits of modern material. When exhibits of modern material are encountered they are almost always an exhibit of commemorative stamps. This volume of Andrew's exhibit addresses a modern airmail stamp of which over 4 billion were printed. That's a lot to work with! Andrew has prepared a stunning exhibit, with production and uses, that shows what can be accomplished by an exhibit of modern material. What will be especially valuable to exhibitors, is Andrew's 'Nuts and Bolts' section in which he describes how he prepares exhibits, including discussions of paper size, printing, color, fonts, text boxes for emphasis and QR codes. It's a mini-seminar by itself! This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.…
