Stefano Chiassai inizia la sua formazione da giovanissimo nell'impresa di famiglia, giungendo a creare il suo marchio nel 1980 - linea total look distribuita in tutto il mondo. Nel 1985 fonda, insieme alla moglie Alessandra, SCS Studio Chiassai, ufficio stile. Nel 1987 sfila con il proprio marchio che lo vede protagonista a Pitti Trend, Pitti Uomo e alle settimane della moda milanese. Dal 1994, dopo la chiusura del brand, il lavoro dello studio si è concentrato sulle consulenze stilistiche e la ricerca di tendenze per numerosi brand.
