Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book comprises poems and short stories from the author's time living in various parts of Australia and Fiji. The author, the eldest son of the first white native-born child in the colony of Victoria, spent much of his life in Victoria, but travelled to Western Australia in 1891, where he died suddenly in 1895, at the early age of thirty-two. The tales contained within are reflective, deeply personal, and explore the themes of love, loss, and longing. The author writes about the natural world with a deft touch, and his poems are rich in imagery and metaphor. The stories are often humorous and anecdotal, but they also touch on deeper themes, such as the challenges of life in a new and unfamiliar land. The book is a valuable addition to the body of Australian literature, and offers a unique perspective on life in the late 19th century. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
