Omeprazole magnesium is the most common antiulcerant in Bangladesh which are widely prescribed by the physicians for peptic ulcer & GERD. Ten national brands with reference brand of Omeprazole magnesium capsules were studied in stimulated gastric medium (pH 1.2) for first 2 hours and then in simulated intestinal medium (pH 6.8) for next 45 minutes using USP reference dissolution apparatus (Type 1 ) Among most of these locally manufactured Omeprazole brands showed compatible dissolution pattern & release kinetics compared with the reference brand.
