Umberto Cassuto, also known as Moshe David Cassuto (16 September 1883 - 19 December 1951), was an Italian historian, a rabbi, and a scholar of the Hebrew Bible and Ugaritic literature, in the University of Florence, then at the University of Rome La Sapienza. Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the development of the British Empire's colonial policies from the time of Queen Elizabeth in the 16th century until around the turn of the 20th century. The author begins by discussing the motivations and justifications for colonialism during this period, and then explores the various ways in which the British government exercised control over its colonies. The author argues that British colonial policy was often inconsistent and haphazard, and that it was driven more by expediency than by any clear set of principles. However, the author also shows that the British Empire was a complex and diverse entity, and that there was considerable variation in the way that different colonies were governed. The book offers a nuanced and insightful account of the development of British colonial policy, and it provides a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the British Empire. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
