Ein Übersichtsplan auf der Innenseite der vorderen Umschlag-klappe im Maßstab 1:200 000 dient der groben Orientierung über die beschriebenen Gebäudearten und ihre Lage sowie über die Aufteilung des Stadtgebietes in 10 Teilpläne A-K. Die 10 gelben Teilpläne A-K im Maßstab 1:50 000 zeigen die genauen Standorte der Objekte. Die Teilpläne sind so im Buch angeordnet, daß sie die Einzelbeschreibungen der auf ihnen verzeichneten Bauten einleiten. Kreise ohne Nummern auf den Teilplänen geben den Standort von Gebäuden an, die in einer Ergänzungsliste am Schluß des Buches zusammengefaßt sind. Die Bezifferung der Objekte beginnt auf dem Gebiet des Teil-planes A und endet, fortlaufend, im Teilplan K. Ist eine größere Anzahl von Objekten derselben Siedlung gezeigt, so trägt die gesamte Siedlung eine Hauptnummer, die nach dem Dezimal-system in die einzelnen, in einem einem Lageplan verzeichneten Objekte unterteilt ist. Die Lagepläne dienen zur Orientierung in Siedlungen, die unter einer Hauptnummer zusammengefaßt sind. Die Lagepläne sind den Einzelbeschreibungen der wichtigsten Objekte der Siedlung vorangestellt. Der Verkehrsplan auf der Innenseite der hinteren Umschlag-klappe dient zusammen mit dem davor angeordneten Straßenverzeichnis der leichteren Auffindung der Bauten, deren Lage dann auf den gelben Teilplänen A-K genauer bestimmt werden kann. Das Auffinden eines bestimmten Gebäudes ermöglichen das Objektverzeichnis und das Architektenverzeichnis, die sich beide am Anfang des Buches befinden. Weitere, im Führer nicht beschriebene Objekte sind in einer Ergänzungsliste am Schluß des Buches aufgeführt. Dabei handelt es sich zum Teil um zerstörte Bauten.
