Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Good. Original wraps illustrated with map of Iran and surrounding countries, and b/w photo 20x27cm. 16pp with b/w photos and maps. Good, two-hole punched for filing, with minor loss to corner. The EUCOM Information Bulletin was issued weekly to raise awareness of current affairs and topical subjects, and promote education for career advancement within the services. This early Cold War issue emphasises Iran as "a tempting target for international Communism", with the US helping to arm it and build its economy so it is better able to resist possible aggression. The US believes Iran will be targeted next after the attack on the Republic of Korea. There is a description of the history, land and people, politics (the Constitution and the Shah), natural resources and industry, WW2 and after (occupation, revolt in Azerbaijan, Soviet aggression), and efforts towards economic and social reforms. It concludes by expressing concern that Iran's poor economic conditions are breeding unrest and the spread of Communist ideas. Photos show Reza Khan, oil installations and workers, Iranian troops reoccupying Azerbaijan, and Iranian cavalry at full pelt. This includes a detailed Discussion Leader's Outline for a presentation.
