Now a days PRIs have been proclaimed as the vehicle of the socio economic transformation in rural India. The importance of Panchayat system has been emphasised by political thinkers and administrators of all ages. The Constitution (73) Amendment Act endowing PRIs with constitutional status constitute a significant landmark in the evolution of grassroots democratic institutions in India. It ensures full freedom to plan according to the local need and local potentials. The comprehensive framework provided now will truly transform the rural economy and give a practical shape to people's participation in the process of economic development with social justice. It has observed that not much literature on Panchayati Raj System is available in the market. In order to fill up this gap the editors feel it necessary to bring out one edited volume collecting contributions from various renowned authors covering almost all the aspects of Panchayati Raj System prevailing in India. The names of the contributors have been included in this book. The edited volume may be used as a textbook for the students and reference for the researchers. 244 pp.

Paperback. Condición: New. The South Asian population in Canada, encompassing diverse national, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, has in recent years become the largest visible minority in the country. As this community grows, it encounters challenges in settlement, integration, and development. Accounting for only 1 per cent o…f the population in Quebec, the South Asian community has received limited attention in comparison with other minority groups. The Invisible Community uses recent data from a variety of fields to explore who these immigrants are and what they and their families require to become members of an inclusive society. Experts from Canadian and international universities and governmental and community agencies describe how South Asian immigrants experience life in French-speaking Canada. They look at how members of the community integrate into the job market, how they manage socially and emotionally, how their religious values are affected, and how their children adapt to French-speaking and English-speaking schools. The Invisible Community shares lived experiences of different subgroups of the South Asian population in Quebec in order to better understand wider social, political, and educational contexts of immigration in Canada.

Netaji: an assessment/Ratna Ghosh. Index. "Subhas Chandra Bose, popularly known as Netaji was an outstanding leader of the Indian National Movement. The life of Subhas reads like a thrilling saga of most dramatic events. Subhas was truly the greatest hero of India's struggle for freedom. Subhas Chandra Bose was born on 23 January, 1897 at Cuttack in Orissa. Subhas was almost hypnotized by Swami Vivekananda's teachings "seek your salvation in the welfare of humanity." He had found his ideal to which he could devote his whole being. He graduated from the Calcutta University and qualified for the Indian Civil Service. This led to mental conflicts as to whether or not he should join the coveted heaven born service. At last he resigned his attractive career to serve the cause of India's freedom. Subhas Chandra Bose had joined the non-cooperation movement and since then had been a promising dynamic young man of the Congress organization. Yet he nurtured revolutionary ideas and was never really-fully happy with Gandhiji's philosophy and technique of political agitations. He was convinced that India could.
