Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. 8vo. 16pp including the pictorial card wrappers. Circa 1840. There are eight pages of text and eight pages with hand-coloured vignette wood-engravings, which are printed on one side only. There is light off-setting throughout. A child or adult has written lightly in pencil some words against the objects in English and French, these could be erased. The covers are very fresh as the book has been disbound from a larger volume. This has resulted in a series of sewing holes along the spine and some traces of gutta-percha. The covers are fragile and are becoming loose, book slightly trimmed. A nice clean copy of a very rare title. 'Ramble' (1810-75)is the pseudonym for the Reverend Samuel Clark, who left his father's business in 1836 and went to London. There he became a partner in the publishing business of William Darton. He went on to write a series of geography books for children and later became the Rector of Eaton-Bishop. One copy on WorldCat. Very Good . Samuel Clark (ilustrador).…
