This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2014-15 on the topic entitled 'Phase wise verification of climatic requirement on growth and development in rice cultivars.' in sandy loan soil of N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.). The experiment consisted of nine treatment combinations comprised of three transplanting dates viz., I st dates of transplanting on July 5 (D1), IInd dates of transplanting on July 15 (D2) and IIIrd dates of transplanting on July 25 (D3) and three varieties viz., Sarjoo-52 (V1), NDR-359 (V2) and Swarna (V3). It was observed that different phenophases of rice markedly varied with not only dates of transplanting but also different weather variables which ultimately creates the different crop growing environment to harvest the yield accordingly. As panicle initiation during 10-15 Sept (transplanted on July 15) recorded the highest yield as compared to 2 - 7 September PI stage. Variation in daily mean temperature & solar radiation during reproductive and ripening period also has marked affect. Mean temperature 29.5-300 C during vegetative stage & 26.60C - 28.80C during reproductive stage. 116 pp. Englisch.

The experiment consisted of Randomized Block Design (RBD) at nine treatment combinations and four replications comprised of three sowing dates viz., Ist date of sowing on Nov 15 (D1), IInd date of sowing on Nov 25 (D2) and IIIrd dates of sowing on Dec 05 (D3) and three varieties viz., PBW-343 (V1), PBW-502 (V2) and HD-2967 (V3). Wheat is a cool-season crop. Cool-weather during vegetative development and warm weather for maturity is deemed ideal for wheat. The minimum growth temperature for wheat is 3-40C, the optimum temperature is about 250C, and the maximum from about 30-320C.
