In diesem Buch wird die These verteidigt, daß die allgemeine Kritik, die Heidegger an der abendländischen Metaphysik (als einer Tradition, die von einem geschlossenen Substanzdenken getragen wird) ausübt, nicht auf Hegels "Phänomenologie des Geistes" angewendet werden kann. Aufgrund eines systematischen Vergleichs zwischen dem methodischen Aufbau von "Sein und Zeit" und der "Phänomenologie des Geistes" wird die Schlußfolgerung gezogen, daß Heidegger sein Denken zu unrecht profiliert als ein Endlichkeitsdenken, das dem Unendlichkeitsdenken Hegels gegenübersteht. Hegel ist kein Substanzdenker in Heideggerischem Sinn. The systematic development of this relation can be performed with the help of a critical reconstruction of Hegel?'s project in the Phenomenology of Spirit and the Philosophy of Right.This reconstruction results in a differentiated concept of the self: in three forms of the self (corresponding with three forms of recognition) and their institutional embodiment.
