Fusion of these two images provides one composite image with more accurate and reliable information, which is not possible with either source in isolation. This book is a step towards feature level fusion of range and intensity image data of an object. The work is divided mainly into three parts. Initially, a 3-D model of the object is reconstructed from the acquired range images. Then, structural features are extracted from the 3-D model and intensity image of the object. Finally, two novel techniques have been introduced for the fusion of extracted features from both the modalities.
