Batman has appeared in newspapers on five separate occasions since his 1939… comic book debut. The initial volume in the series reprises the first and possibly the most important occasion. Not only has this newspaper strip, Batman, and rRobin never before been reprinted intact, it also has important historical significance. It is the last large body of work the Batman created, Bob Kane penciled completely solo. It is artist Charles Paris' first inking work on Batman, representing the initial three years of a 22 year stint with the character. Paris is probably the only person to have ink Batman this long. And it contains stories by all the significant writers from the first five, formative years of the feature's history: Don, Cameron, Bill Finger Jack Schiff, and Alvin Schwartz. Ce fonds est principalement constitué de clichés de Russell Gay, Lilo Korenjak, Vince Lussa, R. Tanner, Johannes F…leck, Gabriel Rochas, Alain Armez, Lynn, Bill Hamilton, Eric Wilkins, mais aussi un certain nombre sans marque de photographes. Les photographies portent souvent au verso des marques de recadrage, un cachet du Photographe ainsi qu'un cachet portant un numéro, une date et une mention manuscrite "PH" pour Paris Hollywood suivie d'un numéro pour le numéro correspondant de la publication, quelques clichés sont aussi issus de la Revue Frou-Frou N°69 de 1958, dans ce cas la mention manuscrite est "FF 69". Les photos issues de ce fonds sont souvent retouchées à la gouache afin de dissimuler les pilosités. Pour les photos dévoilant les seins, les fesses ou le sexe, un coeur rose dissimulera ces parties afin de ne pas froisser les âmes sensibles, ce coeur a été ajouté par nos soins informatiquement et ne figurera bien-sûr pas sur la photographie originale, qu'on se le dise ! Ici la photo est signée au crayon par Bill Hamilton "Bill H" et porte un cachet d'agence "International Press, Copenhagen, Denmark" au verso, elle est non retouchée, et porte le Cachet "PH246" pour Paris-Hollywood N°246 du 16 mai 1962.

Ashantilly Press usually limited print runs between 100 to 500 copies. SILK STOCKING STREET was republished in 1972 but this Ashantilly first edition is uncommon. Founded by William Greaner Haynes, Jr. (1908-2001) in Darien, Georgia in 1955, Ashantilly Press' first imprint was a map of Fort King George with the first book - "Anchored Yesterdays" - being issued in 1956. The inscribees are Seymour Bennett Johnson and Joan Dorsett Johnson of Indianola, Mississippi.

Les photographies portent souvent au verso des marques de recadrage, un cachet du Photographe ainsi qu'un cachet portant un numéro, une date et une mention manuscrite "PH" pour Paris Hollywood suivie d'un numéro pour le numéro correspondant de la publication, quelques clichés sont aussi issus de la Revue Frou-Frou N°69 de 1958, dans ce cas la mention manuscrite est "FF 69". Les photos issues de ce fonds sont souvent retouchées à la gouache afin de dissimuler les pilosités. Pour les photos dévoilant les seins, les fesses ou le sexe, un coeur rose dissimulera ces parties afin de ne pas froisser les âmes sensibles, ce coeur a été ajouté par nos soins informatiquement et ne figurera bien-sûr pas sur la photographie originale, qu'on se le dise ! Ici la photo est signée au crayon par Bill Hamilton "B.H." et porte un cachet d'agence "International Press, Copenhagen, Denmark" au verso, Léger voile de gouache sur le corps, et porte le Cachet "PH270" pour Paris-Hollywood N°270 du 7 mai 1963.
