He published three well-regarded collections: Flame in the Dark (1962), If I May Share (1964), and Now Has My Summer (1966).Born in London and raised in the Surrey countryside, Naumann learned to read braille and type one-handed at St Dunstan's—a rehabilitation center for blinded servicemen—where he dedicated much of his time to poetry. His work is known for its heightened sensory detail and powerful reflections on the world and ordinary experience.
