In its third decade, this new edition includes almost all species of amphibians, reptilians, birds and mammalians known to exist in Bangladesh. Alongside the list of wildlife, this book also contains the Bengali names of animals, with special attention to their physical characteristics in order to help users with field identification. Overall, 240 additional species have been included in this new list. The original book, after being published in 1982, inspired and became the basis for several wildlife books by local and international researchers and authors. The new edition of the Wildlife of Bangladesh-A Checklist and Guide promises to further the minimal wealth of information currently available in written form on Bangladesh wildlife and enrich the existing collection of books in the country with its comprehensiveness and illustrations.
