Coiffe et pied manquants a…insi qu'une partie du premier caisson. Usure sur les coins frottés. Tranche mouchetée rouge. Intérieur frais bien que quelques rousseurs éparses peuvent être notées. Rare exemplaire de cette édition en grande partie originale. L'auteur ayant refondu son premier texte de 1644 dans cette édition revue, corrigée, augmentée de témoignages et où il prit en compte certaines critiques. Il y a ajouté un catalogue des maires de La Rochelle. Pierre Mervault était un commerçant rochelais qui a servi comme soldat lors de ce fameux siège. Il a étoffé son témoignage avec celui de son père, maître d'artillerie de la ville et celui du pasteur Philippe Vincent, négociateur, qui se déplaça à Londres et a tenu lui aussi un journal. Exemplaire rare et recherché.
