Arthur went with him and upon Pyle's death in 1911, he purchased the studio and was determined to devote himself to creating accurate paintings primarily of American history. This culminated in the book published by the University of Pennsylvania in 1935. Printed E. E. Hildreth and Co. on rag Worthy permanent book paper, bound in Murphy-Parker Co. of Philadelphia in ¼ red pebble grained Morocco over beige Athol linen cloth, spine lettered and ruled in gilt, some spotting or toning to page edges of the front free endpaper, half-title and title page.
