Añadir al carrito16mo; stiff, string bound white cardstock covers; blue cardstock dust wrapper; paper label; 35 pp + 4 pp Index. Fine (As New). From Introduction: In an enterprise not unsuggestive of ambition so blithe as to summon up an almost unbecoming daring, the American literary figure Mr. Paul Horgan here proposes once again his own further essays in the genre of the clerihew, the original creator of which, Mr. E. C. (lerihew) Bentley, in yielding to a schoolboy impulse, brought into being a whole new dimension of the English comic jingle to which his middle name gavie its distinguishing designation. Contenting himself with imitation of the master by limiting his subject matter to comments upon persons of note, Mr. Horgan, in general moved by putatively comic impulse, now creates fantasies in historical reference, and again, not quite soberly but with a drolly strained imaginative relevance, touches upon known and actual conditions or circumstances. The confident results may fairly be said to be far-ranging in their variety. Literature, Humor, Illustrated, Americana.
