A scarce, most curious and interesting book on occult and subjects, full of occult symbols/imagery; The author's dedication appreciates those who "loved me as I am, for what I am, and in spite of what I am, and to all those who revere the integrity of self-hood in themselves and others." The Author i…s from rural West Virgina where the old folk-lore still lingered and hauntings and hexes were not uncommon. There is a preface page with a dualistic illustration and a short text from Alphonse Daudet on his dual nature. The book consists of 20 chapter of which the introduction is one. Each chapter title page has an occult symbol and its interpretation and creative chapter titles based on texts from literature, like Edgar Allen Poe or Mary Baker Eddy. A truly well written and interesting tale of spooky paranormal phenomena and people. Inquiries encouraged, photos available. Yellow cloth-covered board w/light wear, but some insect damage at the top edges and spine (which seems appropriate tot the subject). Very strong, still stiff, binding; Clean text. Frontise page stained by small drops of coffee that have fallen in an artful pattern (also appropriate). Professional book seller with storefront since 1975.
