Clean and tightly bound in green cloth with ornate gilded imagery and titles. Light chipping at spine head and rubbed corners, remains Very Good. The contents include eleven color foldout maps of Asia and the Mideast, in very good to near fine condition and numerous illustrations. The front free endpaper is lacking and a few pages have chips on margins. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
