Hardcover. Condición: New. New felt covered hardcover with silver lettering to spine and front cover. 4to. ( 8.3 x 0.9 x 10.2 inches). Clean text free of marks or underlining. Color photos on glossy paper throughout the text. 219 pp. Fast shipping in a secure book box mailer with tracking. An experiment in interactive design and… a bold reimaging of the museum exhibition This catalogue pioneers a new approach to the art museum exhibition, using the power of design to explore how we experience the world through our varied senses. Six international design teams have collaborated with experts in neuroscience and cognitive, motor, and sensory issues to create site-specific, immersive, and participatory environments--one of which is the publication itself. These revolutionary interpretations across various media will foster research intended to push our understanding of sensory perception and encourage new ways of conceiving, installing, and experiencing exhibitions. Designed by Laurie Haycock Makela, a leader in experimental graphic design, the book plays with the multiple meanings of the word "speechless," exploring the evolution of the project, documenting the installations, and offering portraits of the creative individuals who defined this extraordinary undertaking. Topics range from personal connections to issues of inclusion, diversity, accessibility, and empathy. Distributed for the Dallas Museum of Art Exhibition Schedule: Dallas Museum of Art (November 10, 2019-March 22, 2020).

Paperback. Condición: New. This is a walk through a decade's worth of work by Misha Kahn. Glitzy, wobbly, hairy, witty-no number of adjectives aptly describes an output so vast, one which ranges from underwater mosaic sculptures and scrap-metal chaise longues to a gem-encrusted, wrist-worn, labyrinth-style ball game. Neither str…ictly an artist nor a designer, Misha himself emphatically avoids categorisation for the very real fear it might box him in and close off fresh, breakable ground. It's this boundless energy for every new material or technical challenge, combined with his singular ideas and aesthetics, that has made Misha a leading creative voice of his generation. It's our second collaboration with Friedman Benda (following Faye Toogood: Assemblage 6, Unlearning) and is Misha's first ever book. Inside, his sketches, process shots, final works, and installation set-ups are contextualised by six candid conversations (at a nail bar, on a hike, in a back garden) with other creative luminaries: Nick Haramis, Dries Van Noten, WangShui, Kellie Riggs, Todd Oldham, and Su Wu. These are prefaced by writer and curator Glenn Adamson and his reflection on Misha's practice through the years, while our author adds a finishing touch, annotating the book by hand with commentary on his very own words and works.
