Tome 4 seul (complet en soi), de cet ouvrage curieux et rare, surtout complet de toutes ses planches. L'ouvrage avait paru initialement par livraisons (de 24 pages et 6 planches chacune) entre 1835 et 1841. L'exemplaire proposé ici correspond à un nouveau tirage, avec impression d'une nouvelle page de titre à la date de 1853, Ce tome est consacré au système nerveux et à l'appareil de la génération ; une partie est consacrée au système de Gall. Il contient 46 belles planches lithographiées en couleurs (parfois d'après Scarpa ou Arnold) et un portrait de Gall. Le texte est à deux colonnes, l'une pour l'anatomie, l'autre pour la physiologie. Il était destiné à un large public. Galet fut chef de clinique à la faculté de Médecine de Montpellier.
