Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The Life of John Wesley Hardin and Perilous Trails of Texas Two accounts of westerners and their times These two compratively short accounts of the wild days in the old southwest of America have been brought together in this Leonaur edition because the authors lived at the same time and comparatively close to one another in their state. That said, whilst both men lived exciting lives, their stories come from different perspectives. John Wesley Hardin, was one of the most infamous gunfighters and outlaws of his time. He killed his first man at just fifteen years old and before his violent career was over had probably killed over 20 more. Hardin was brought tojustice when he 23 years old and wrote the autobiography included in his book- possibly laced with advantages - when incarcerated. He was eventually released, and died as he lived, shot to death in El Paso, Texas in 1895. Red Dunn was also no stranger to frontier violence or having a six-gun in his hand as he faced the perils of the lawless Mexican borderlands as a trail-driver and as a lawman serving with the Texas Rangers. These two books make enthralling readingfor anyone fascinated by this period of authentic American frontier history.Leonaur editions are newly typeset and are not facsimiles; each title is available in softcover and hardback with dustjacket. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Añadir al carritoHardback. Condición: New. Tell el-Hesi is located near the modern city of Qiryat Gat in the Southern District of Israel, 23 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The site, which covers 35-40 acres, includes both an acropolis and a lower city. Occupation of the site began as early as the Neolithic period, and the city grew significantly during the Early Bronze Age before being abandoned until the Late Bronze Age. The latest phase of occupation occurred during the Hellenistic period. The acropolis was in use for almost two thousand years. This volume is the first in a new iteration of the Joint Archaeological Expedition to Tell el-Hesi series that builds on previously published volumes. It publishes a final report for part of one of Tell el-Hesi's excavation fields; a reevaluation of the stratigraphic findings of the original 1891-1892 excavations on Tell el-Hesi, based on excavation work from the 1970s and 1980s; in-depth studies of groups of small finds from the tell; and zooarchaeological analyses that widen the investigative perspective to include the region around the tell.Paying tribute to the long excavation history at Tell el-Hesi, the contributors to this volume employ state-of-the-art scientific methods that honor the careful work and findings of a century of excavations. Hesi After 50 Years and 130 Years will be an important reference for scholars researching the history and culture of southern Palestine.

"Public Support of Private Innovation describes the One North Carolina Small Business Program's purpose and history, as well as offer an assessment of whether it has met its stated goals and objectives. Through an analysis of data collected through a 2017 survey of all the program's grantee companies, this monograph provides both descriptive findings as well as econometric assessments of the Program against its four stated goals. Both the descriptive findings and the econometric analyses are supportive of the conclusion that the program is meeting its legislatively authorized purpose and goals. This monograph is divided into five sections. Section 1 provides background context on the One North Carolina Small Business Program. Section 2 describes the Federal SBIR and STTR Programs and how North Carolina has fared under the programs since their establishment. Section 3 presents descriptive information on the programs' survey and sets the stage for section 4, which details the econometric assessment of the program. Concluding observations are presented in section 5." (publisher's description).
